How Do We Make Our Office Visits Count?

Maybe whats missing is an office space that promotes collaboration to its full potential. Making best use of our time when we have ditched the sweatpants and travelled into the office.

We’re rapidly approaching 2022, the workspace should be conducive of brainstorming sessions, working together and project planning.

Optimised for collaborative work that looses the energy and creativity when solely done online. This is amplified for business in the creative & project management sectors.

Make the Tools Accessible

Rather than wheeling in cumbersome smart boards and white boards on wheels to track projects, build a space that already has those tools.

Dry wipe and chalk walls are an amazing way to provide workers with a space to keep track of projects and workflows, without adding more furniture to your space. Ideal for meeting rooms, corridors and breakout spaces.

Make the Tools Fun

The joy of writing on a dry-erase board, or pinning something up with your special magnet did not go away just because we left school.

Utilising these tools, workers can live the simple joy of writing, erasing, writing again, doodling, creating...

Make the Tools Intuitive

Magnetic-walls and dry-wipe tables allow workers to jot down notes, create to-do lists, and incorporate external papers, visuals, and deliverables without bulky file folders.

Communicate and visualise your workflows, so the whole team can see and be on the same page.

Does remote/hybrid work sacifice collaboration?

Despite all the adjustments we've had to make, we are starting to see remote and hybrid working as one possible silver lining.

I think we all can see the value of completing our day to day tasks from our newly invested in home office or kitchen table, steps from the fridge.

We can finally admit gone are the days of the standard 09:00-17:00, sitting at the same desk every day, chatting around the kettle or eating lunch with our colleagues.

Although this all seems great, can thriving, creative companies continue to flourish while team members are miles apart solely communicating online. Effectively working full-time in office silos?

Appealing as full-time remote working is, it would be a mistake to think that office spaces won't always be a necessity. The fact is, a Zoom call simply doesn't match the energy of a room of people who are face-to-face, bouncing off each other's ideas.

What the last two years have actually shown us, is not that there is no value in going into an office, but instead, that we need to focus on getting the most value from our office visits.

Final Remarks

As the workforce returns to the office or hybrid working becomes the norm.

It is essential that we don't forget the importance of collaboration in the workspace.

By creating spaces with intuitive, effective tools built in, you can ensure that your employees are able to both enjoy their time at the office, and get what needs to be done, done.
